Lee was commissioned by Red Bulletin magazine in the fall 2011 to photograph retired professional soccer player and Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry.
Thinking back about the shoot Lee says 'they say you should never meet your heroes, but, now i disagree! On a super hot fall day on the rooftop of a 36 storey building in Manhattans Chelsea district, i got to meet one of mine. Being a lifelong Arsenal fan i was naturally a little nervous approaching the shoot. However, it wasnt until mid way through the shoot that i mentioned to Thierry that i was a guuners fan. Immediately our rapour changed, the initial cool atmosphere thawed and we got on tremendously well.
For this image i asked Thierry to reminisce about a game where he took the ball away from Liverpools Jamie Carragher and he threw his hands up in the air to create this memorable portrait, which was eventually used on the cover of the magazine'.
Another portrait of Theirry from the session can be found here.
The shoot took place in Manahattan, NYC and was captured using a Canon EOS5D MKii with Adobe Photoshop used for post production.
