I have contributed stock imagery to Getty Images for over a decade. Getty commisioned me to produce a set of images that Visualised tech and mini people, I first produced this project in the 2000's, using a digital camera, physical tech props, mini architectural figures and lots and lots of blu tac (and patience).
The production of 10 images took around 7-8 days, this included 4 days of shooting and a further 3-4 days of post production. On this occasion and for this set of images, I produced them in CGI. Time wise it took less than half the time, I could easily add angle and subject variations. And the best thing about the CGI project? There was absolutely no blu tac involved ;)
Take a look at the before and after of our Tech Visualisation. Producing the images for Getty we needed to 'de-brand' the products and make generic ( For Stock libaries, imagery cannot use branded goods). For this we retouched out buttons, logos and any distiguishing features for each product.
